Late Summer, but Still Here !
We are sorry for the unfortunate weather we have at the start of this summer season. The Daily Scoop is back in operation, but as we do not open on rainy days there have been a lot of days when our doors were closed – including this first day of summer… However, we are hoping to be back with the same delicious flavours you have been used in previous years. We will be open tomorrow 2 December 2010 - for now we will remain open 3 days only – Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 12 to 5PM. If you wish to order our ice cream please leave your order in the form below or call us on 60561900.
Our ice cream is available in two distinct flavours of Merlo Coffee Espresso and Merlo Mocha at The Delibean cafe in Beechworth Rd Wodonga which is open Monday to Friday.

New Motivation for Students!
If your children attend school you know it gets more and more difficult to motivate them once the summer weather starts. It might change this summer with the new Student of the Week Award which has just been offered to all local schools in Wodonga. The award will be sponsored by The Daily Scoop – we will donate a gift voucher to the top student in each school every week. School principals can use their discretion to select top students by academic results, best behaviour, or a sport achievement. If you school has not received the details let us know – call 6056 1900 or email dailyscoopwodonga@gmail.com

Visit from Wodonga Primary
Students from the Wodonga Primary School are among our best customers, and we have again welcome them for a visit on their recent excursion to town. Students have learned a few interesting facts about our ice cream and we had a good discussion about where it fits as a healthy dessert among all the other foods we eat. However, most importantly – they have then tasted the great flavours from our shop:

Medals from the Royal Sydney Show
Most of our fans know by now that we have won some medals at the Royal Sydney Show. This was great news, and received some publicity in the press as well – sorry we have not put anything on the website yet, initially we wanted to get the artwork for medals but as it has been delayed here is the brief of what we won:
- Gold medal in the Gelato – Fruit flavour category for our Classic Banana
- Silver medal in the Gelato – Chocolate category for our Classic Chocolate
- Silver medal in the Gelato – nut flavour for Macadamia
- Silver medal in the Gelato – other flavours for our Cafe Latte
We only entered Gelato categories, as we do not make ice cream. The requirement for ice creams is minimum of 12% fat content, and as most of our customers know we make all our products low fat (under 6% fat). And as this was the Dairy Show we could only enter milk based gelato and not sorbets which are dairy-free.
Great result from our first competition, and thank you all for your support!

The Daily Scoop at Riverdeck Cafe
The Daily Scoop ice cream is now available at Riverdeck Cafe in Noreuil Park, Albury. The stretch of Murray river around the park is well known for summer activities such as swimming, canoeing, kayaking, boating and water skiing, although most people drop in just for a quiet picnic under the large trees that provide shade from summer heat.
The kiosk at Noreuil Park is part of small service building that houses the Mitta Mitta Canoe Club and public amenities. Many tourist stop by for a refreshing break especially in the summer. The Daily Scoop was setup at the Riverdeck to give locals and passers-by a taste of the best ice cream in the region in one of the nicest environments. Come and see what everyone’s talking about – we are open every day from 10AM to 5PM during summer!

Welcome to more school excursions!
The Daily Scoop has in the past welcome a lot od school excursions from primary and secondary schools in Wodonga. It is usually a great day out as many schools are nearby and the whole class can walk to the shop. We introduce the class to the background of ice cream making (which is a bit of a science in its own right), discuss favourite flavours, and of course let everyone taste the ice cream as well! Last year we appreciated a visit from Wodonga Primary School and they sent us a lovely letter, we hope to see them again!

Welcome to the new season!
Welcome to all our customers for the new summer season 2009/2010. We are starting this year a bit slower, with four days of opening – hours from 11 AM to 5 PM. When the summer season gets into full swing we will extend the hours to 7 days a week again. We will also stay open longer for Lounging on High, the first one will be held on 2 October 2009.
Follow us on Twitter for instant updates or come back to this website more often. We look forward to selling ice cream outside Wodonga as well, with few more outlets coming on board to distribute our product. Maybe there is going to be one near you
