The Daily Scoop has gained its reputation for award winning products at The Royal Sydney Show in 2010 and 2011. It is great to know that our product measures up favourably against the other gelato makers in the country, but it is most rewarding to hear from our customers that we are one of the best… Following is the list of what we won:
- Gold medal in the Gelato – Fruit flavour category for our Classic Banana in 2010
- Silver medal in the Gelato – Vanilla category for French Vanilla in 2011
- Silver medal in the Gelato – Chocolate category for our Classic Chocolate in both 2010 and 2011
- Silver medal in the Gelato – nut flavour for Macadamia in 2010
- Silver medal in the Gealto -fruit flavour for our Mango in 2011
- Silver medal in the Gelato – other flavours for our Cafe Latte in 2010
- Silver medal in the Gelato – other flavours for our Mocha in 2011
We only entered Gelato categories, as we do not make ice cream. The requirement for ice creams is minimum of 12% fat content, and as most of our customers know we make all our products low fat (under 6% fat). And as this was the Dairy Show we could only enter milk based gelato and not sorbets which are dairy-free. However, some of the flavours we have won awards for are made as sorbets as well – for example our Mango is one of the big favourites with customers.
